Born in Trenton and raised in Roebling , he lived in Florence most of his life. Joe was an employee of the U.S.. Department of Commerce , working as a computer specialist operator at Princeton University from 1970 until 2012. He was a member of the Mount Moriah Lodge #28 F& AM ,of Bordentown and a member of Sts. Stephen and Barnabas Episcopal Church of Florence where he was a member of the Vestry .Joe also served as an auxiliary police officer for the Florence Township Police Department from 1973 until 1985. He was a car buff and like racing and go carts. He enjoyed membership in the Bed Bugs of Roebling and the Rolling Oldies Car Club .
Predeceased by his parent Joseph A. and Mary (Janus) Hand and his brother, Kenny Hand, he is survived by his loving wife Barbara (Gravener) Hand :3 sons. Joseph(wife, Megumi), Jason Hand and Jonathan Hand(wife Stephanie) and grandchildren , Joey and Meghan whom he loved so much and his grand puppy Gunnar. He was also the brother -in -law of Arthur Dean Gravener(Joyce) and Robert Gravener(Eloise) and also leaves behind nieces ,nephews and treasured friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday April 6, 2019 , from 8 until 11:00 Am at the Dennison Funeral Home 214 W. Front St , Florence , thence to Sts. Stephen and Barnabas Episcopal Church 35 W Second Street Florence for Burial Office and Requiem services. Officiating will be Rev. Cannon Linda Moeller, rector. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery Florence.
