Obituary for Marian V. Lynn

Marian V. (Chant) Lynn of Burlington, formerly of Florence, passed away into God’s loving and eternal care on Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at The Marcella Center, Burlington. She was 89. Born in Riverside, she was raised in Pemberton and Beverly. She lived in Florence for many years before moving to Burlington 11 years ago. Marian retired as a secretary in the payroll department at the Burlington Co. Vo Tech School in Westampton. She formerly attended Trinity Methodist Church in Roebling, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She was a member of the First Wesleyan Church of Florence where she served in numerous ministries. She also belonged to the Good Neighbor Senior Citizens Club. In her free time, she could be found loving her grandkids, reading, doing a puzzle, or travelling. Preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas A. Gowie Jr., and son, David A. Gowie, Marian is survived by her husband, William M. Lynn; her children, Reverend Barbara Parker, Carol Elaine Snyder (Walter) and Thomas W. Gowie; her step daughter, Nancy Lynn; her brother, Howard Chant; as well as grandsons, David Snyder (Shannon) and Robert Berry (Anita), and great grandsons, Ethan and Evan. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the Dennison Funeral Home, 214 W. Front St., Florence, where relatives and friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in Monument Cemetery, Beverly.
