John Sofchak of Wrightstown passed away into God’s loving and eternal care on Saturday June 2, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 84.
Born in Trenton, John was raised in and lived in Roebling before moving to Wrightstown 13 years ago.
John was the owner/operator of Sofchak's Laurel House in New Egypt for 40 years and owned Sofchak’s corner bar in Roebling prior to The Laurel House. He was a member of the Polish American club, the American Citizens Slovak Club, a lifetime member of the Elks . He was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Roebling and was an avid lover of horse racing.
He is predeceased by his parents John and Rose Sofchak and a grandson Richard A. Mosier.
He is survived by his loving companion of 30 years Eleanor “Nora” Searles and his children: Sandra Mosier of South Carolina , Susan Bucci(John), Daniel Sofchak, Michael Sofchak (Cathy), Todd Searles(Erika), Kevin Searles(Adrienne), Michael Searles(Kelly), Heather Kleckner (Nathan)and Joshua Searles. He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 Noon on Thursday June 7,2018 at the Dennison Funeral Home, 214 W. Front St, Florence, where relatives and friends will be received by the family from 10:00 AM until time of service. Interment to follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery.
