Victor J. Brignoli of Burlington Twp. entered into Peace and Eternal Rest on April 28,2018 at the age of 95 following a short illness at Samaritan Hospice in Virtua Hospital.
Victor was born in Bayonne on February 9,1923, the son of Anna Ciossi and Victor Brignoli.
He worked at several jobs during his lifetime including Western Electric, produce manager of the A & P warehouse in Newark and later for the NJ Turnpike.
He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp in the Pacific during WW II. While based in North Carolina, he met and married the love of his life, Norma Carawan of Hobucken, NC.
He and Norma lived in Sayreville, NJ for many years before moving to Clayton, NC to be near Norma’s family and then returned to New Jersey where his children and grandchildren lived.
He was predeceased by his wife Norma and son Victor Jr. He is survived by his son Stephen (Mary), daughter Ellen Shumway and his grandchildren Jeffrey Shumway, Tina Brignoli, Lori Rodriguez (Richard) and Scott Shumway (Sara). He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, Alexis (Jose), Erica (Matthew),Jake, Alyssa, Richard, Robbie, Victor, Giulia, Carmela and Dominic . He is further survived by 3 great great grandchildren Jose, Giovanni and Manolo.
Victor’s favorite things were his cat Dmitri, watching football and playing poker with family and his friend Jim and nephew Joseph. His quick wit and his generosity will never be forgotten. Semper Fidelis, Tupa.!!
