Obituary for Joseph Dennison

Joseph W. “Jody” Dennison formerly of Mount Laurel passed away peacefully into God’s loving and eternal care Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Aspen Hills Healthcare Center. He was 98. Born and raised in Delanco, he was a Mount Laurel resident for 53 years before entering Aspen Hills. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps. veteran. He retired in 1982 as a custodian for the Lenape High School and prior to that worked at the former Medford Knitwear Mill. He had passion for flying and obtained his private pilot license at the Moorestown Airfield in 1952. With equal passion, he loved playing his fiddle and guitar at the Columbus Farmer’s Market for several years with his fellow musicians. He played in both the Sugar Sand Rambler’s Band, as well as the Piney Hollow Drifters Band. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna (Palmer); and sons, George Dennison (Patricia), and Joseph Palmer (Dolores). He is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Conard (Jack), Rose Blash (Rich); and sons, Billy Dennison (Catherine), and Robert Dennison (Carolyn). He leaves behind several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and their families. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, at the Dennison Funeral Home, 214 W. Front St., Florence, where relatives and friends will be received by the family from 9:30 until the time of service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may sent in Joseph’s name to Serenity Hospice Care, 56 Georgetown Rd., Bordentown NJ 08505, or the Salvation Army www.salvationarmyusa.org.
