Rev. Robert P. Daly of Florence Twp. passed away into God’s loving and eternal care on Friday March 9, 2018 at Virtua Hosp. in Mt. Holly surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, he lived in various places and in Presidential Lakes before moving to Florence Twp. 34 years ago. He was a graduate of Seton Hall Prep School and Seton Hall University and the Catholic Seminary in Darlington, NJ. Fr. Daly retired in 1995 as an Administrative Law Judge for the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development after 25 years of service. He did clergy work for the Federation of Christian Ministries and traveled for world peace in South Korea. Fr. Daly was the pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Oley, Pa. for the past 30 years and was also the pastor of Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Florence Twp. He also served as a chaplain for the Capital Health System and the Masonic Home for many years. In addition, Fr. Daly performed many weddings baptisms, funerals and other religious ceremonies throughout the tri sate area. He also pastoral counselling and was affiliated with many interfaith clergy. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, loved entertaining, socializing and was an avid Phillies fan. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends.
Son of the late Joseph and Mary Daly: brother of the late Joseph Daly, Jr. and Thomas Daly, he is survived by his wife of nearly 42 years, Janette (Vandewater) Daly; 2 daughters Amilynne Tomaszewski (Michael) and Colleen Weisgerber (Glendon) and his granddaughter Madeline. Also, his 3 sisters: Maryanne Bogan (Jack), Clare Schulzki (Anton) and Eileen Farrell (Eugene) as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. He also leaves behind his pet dog Molly.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday March 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Masonic Home, 902 Jacksonville Road, Burlington, where relatives and friends will be received by the family from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM. Entombment will be at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his name may be sent to the University of Pa.
