Helga M. Cliver of Florence passed away into God's loving and eternal care on Monday, June 12, 2017, at home surrounded by her family. She was 79.
Born in Wiesbaden, Germany, she had been a Florence resident for the last 40 years. Helga was a parishioner of St. Clare's Church and a member of the Florence American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 194.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, knitting, and crocheting. Over the years, Helga generously made and donated many blankets to the Soldiers Home in Vineland, N.J.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lester W. Cliver; a son, Lester H. Cliver; her daughters, Mary Rein, Deborah Lukach (David) and Michaele Zitnick; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 19, at the Dennison Funeral Home, 214 W. Front Street, Florence, where relatives and friends may call from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be held in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover.
Due to the cemetery's restriction on accepting flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Florence Township Chapter of Deborah, P.O. Box 254, Roebling, NJ 08554, or to the Masonic Charity Foundation, 902 Jacksonville Rd., Burlington, NJ 08016.
