Obituary for Virginia Conte

Virginia A. 'Ginny' (Absalom) Conte of Vincentown passed away into God's loving and eternal care Monday, March 20, 2017, at

Samaritan Hospice Unit in Mt. Holly. She was 87.

Ginny was a retired township clerk for the Township of Mount Holly where she worked for 20 years.

Born and raised in Mt. Holly, she lived in Vincentown for the last 43 years. She loved gardening, cooking and going to yard sales but her family was most important to her. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for others.

Wife of the late Benjamin Conte Jr., and mother of the late John E. Stead, she is survived by her son, Joseph Frank Conte (Gabrielle) of Tucson, Ariz.; her daughter, Linda Hoppe of Illinois; and also six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She also was the sister-in-law of John Conte, Florence Conte and Stella Makin.

The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 27, at the First Baptist Church, 39 Main Street, Vincentown. Officiating will be Rev. John Vars, pastor. Relatives and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment will be in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in North Hanover.

Due to the cemetery's restrictions on accepting flowers, the family would request memorial donations sent to the Meals on Wheels Program, 795 Woodlane Road, Mt. Holly, NJ 08060 or to the First Baptist Church of Vincentown.
